Is there a negative link I’m missing with Schecter guitars?
I, like most of us here, consider myself somewhat of a gear snob and wouldn’t think of dipping into the gene pool of imported “cheap” guitars the rest of my generally overpriced equipment would not like it.
Since then, I keep stopping by GC and playing a few of the wall.
I’m not sure if I’ve been hypnotized or possibly drugged, but they seem pretty damn nice for the money.
In fact, they seem, except for the pups, close to on par with USA instruments at two to three times the price see Gibson, Hamer and PRS.
Now, a lot of the style seems to be geared towards schecter blackjack 006 kids, but they do have a few less garish models.
Does anyone out there have information to stop me before I enter the world of inexpensive import guitars OR has anyone else found these guitars to be pretty sweet?
My main gigging guitar for the last several years has been a Schecter Diamond Series PT Elite.
I put on Graphtech saddles, swapped out the pickups and tuners for continue reading ones.
Even before the changes, I received lots of complements on the sound and the look, and whenever I recorded with it the engineers have been very impressed.
The only thing that keeps me from seriously eyeing Schecters now is that the features I am looking for click the following article shape, non-TOM style bridge, single coils are not offered on any of their current models.
For the money they are schecter blackjack 006 instruments.
Really solid guitar with tone pros bridge, grovers, what more could you ask for the money.
I'm only interested in solid good sounding guitars.
I don't care how much they cost or who made them.
There are a couple of reasons you hear negativity about Schecters.
I used to own one of the originals, it was put together about 1984 or so.
One-piece quilted maple body, beautiful maple neck, monstertone pickups.
I believe it was an Anderson.
Nowadays, they are an import line.
As nice as they may be for the money, they are still an import line that is a mere shadow of the originals.
It's like comparing a 1959 or 1960 Gibson to a modern Epiphone.
As nice as that Epiphone is, it's not going to visit web page the materials, fit, finish, playability, and tone of that original 1960.
I'm not saying Schecters aren't cost effective, they are.
They're just not a piece of art like the original Schecters.
Had they gone under another name, there would be virtually no negativity.
It'd be kinda like ESP, they started out as high-quality Japanese, and their top-of-the-line instruments still are.
But you're not gonna get another Anderson-built Schecter.
Hey geetarboy, Yer crackin me up because I feel the same way.
My Amer Strat, Tele, and LP own that "special" place in my soul.
But every Schecter diamond series I've had my hands on, including a few of their basses, plays well and seems very well blackjack review />The only thing better than a schect diamon is a USED schecter diamond.
Since their resale value bites, that's a really attractive place to look, IMHO.
Edward The imports are nice inexpensive guitars.
They really aren't a Gibson, Hamer, or PRS or even close though.
They seem to have very thick poly paint on them and the ones I've played were very muddy sounding.
They also cost less than half of the others.
I think they are a good deal, but I haven't found one I wanted to buy.
I'm not against cheap guitars either.
It was my main gigging schecter blackjack 006 for 3 years.
I absolutely loved it, casino blackjack automatic shuffler am kicking myself for selling it.
Had to make way for a D'Lite.
Does anyone out there have information to stop me before I enter the world of inexpensive import guitars OR has anyone else found these guitars to be pretty sweet?
There are so many inexpensive import guitars out there wizardofodds blackjack are of high quality that it is not a rare thing at all anymore.
They were pretty much put on the map by an import company.
Fact is that the 'other countries' knew that they would not succeed if they could not build an equal product for less money.
I have owned a Schecter Gryphon Diamons Series for 2 years now.
The neck is perfect, low action and no buzzing all the way to the 24th fret.
Stays in tune, split coils, grover tuners, quality is simply amazing to me.
Oh yeah, it sounds great.
I think you get what you pay for on the newer ones.
I also think there are better sounding guitars out there for the money.
IMO There are a couple of reasons you hear negativity about Schecters.

I'm talking rock music not hillbilly busic though.
They tend to market toward a younger crowd, based on their designs and who they are endorsers.
I've had a couple Schecters, blackjack simulator excel C-1 classic and a C-7+.
Both were great playing guitars that sounded wonderful.
I remember when Dave Schecter left here and moved to California to really spearhead the custom guitar movement in the mid-70s.
He modded a Twin Reverb for me back in 1973.
He is still somewhat in the business today with OZONE guitars.
Keeping this on-topic, I have a 1996, well my son has it, Schecter "S".
GREAT neck and fingerboard.
I thought his 1 was the Hohner tele?
I know that schecter made the Cloud guitar.
As nice as that Epiphone is, it's not going to match the materials, fit, finish, playability, and tone of that original 1960.
Other than the japanese made Elitist models, today's chinese made Epiphones are so far below Korean made Schecters in ALL categories, it's not even funny.
I know what you're saying but, I just wouldn't use Epiphone as a comparison.
I had a PT Blackjack that was absolutely killer in every respect.
